Commemoration Day will always be a glorious occasion to remember the ultimate sacrifice of martyrs of the UAE Armed Forces in defence of the nation's security, stability and gains, H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, affirmed on Thursday while inaugurating the Martyrs' Memorial at the Flag Square in Ajman.

HH Sheikh Humaid has ordered the construction of the memorial in tribute to the heroes of the UAE’s Armed Forces who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty and to keep their memory alive in the hearts of future generations.

''The martyrs have become role models for their loyalty to the leadership and to the people of the UAE for sacrificing their lives in defence of the nation,'' HH added.

''The memorial will remain a source of pride and glory for the people of the UAE. Those great servicemen have offered their precious souls to protect the nation's security and stability. They have fulfilled their promise to the leadership and become examples of sacrifice, dedication, peace and freedom," HH continued.

HH instructed that the memorial be named the ''Path of Glory,' Staff Major-General Pilot Abdullah Al Sayyed Al Hashemi, Assistant Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Defence for Support Services, also addressed the ceremony, thanking the government of Ajman for building the memorial.

A representative of families of martyrs also spoke at the event, expressing pride in the sacrifice of the fallen heroes.

Sheikh Humaid then presented the Order of Ajman to the families of martyrs in attendance of H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, and a number of Sheikhs, heads of federal and local government departments, top officers from the Armed Forces and Ministry of Interior, senior local officials and children of martyrs.
