
The draft National Health Insurance Law is expected to be submitted soon to the legislative branch of government. The move was announced as the Supreme Council for Health (SCH) convened for its regular monthly meeting.
SCH President Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa chaired the session, in the presence of Health Minister Faeqa Said Al-Saleh, Undersecretary Dr. Aisha Mubarak Bu'unq and other key officials.
Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa stressed the crucial importance of promulgating a national health insurance programme to enhance the standard of services and encourage internal and external investments in the vital sector.
He commended the directives issued by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa. He also paid tribute to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister for his follow-up.
