The Assistant of the President of the Republic, Dr.Faisal Hassan Ibrahim has affirmed the government’s keenness and commitment to make peace in the Two Areas, in the nearest possible time, referring to Sudan’s morale commitment towards maintaining peace in the State of South Sudan.

This came when Dr. Ibrahim met, Thursday, at the Republican Palace, the UK Special Envoy for Sudan and South Sudan Chtistopher Trott who affirmed in a press statement the UK commitment to support the peacefull process and the Nationakl Dialogue in Sudan.

The UK diplomat outlined that the meeting discussed the necessity for the delivery of the humanitarian assistance to the war affected-areas and the pre-cease-fire and hostilities period.

He expressed hope that the political dialogue between the government and the opposition will go ahead in the context of the Road Map signed by the two parties, adding that, from there, we go to Addis Ababa to meet the Head of the African Mechanism, Thabo Mbeki to get acquainted with the next step.

The UK Envoy has outlined that his country appreciates Sudan’s role in maintaining peace and stability in South Sudan and the agreement signed by the two disputed parties, reiterating the British full support to the implementation of the agreement.
