
Speaker of the House, Nabih Berri, met on Friday noon at Ain el Tineh with former Minister, Albert Mansour and tackled the general situation in the country.
Later, Berri met with the head of the "National Dialogue Party", Fouad Makhzoumi, who praised Berri's efforts to facilitate the formation of the cabinet and activate the parliament's work.
Makhzoumi stressed the need to hold the parliamentary polls on time and to approve the state budget in a bid to regain trust in the state and its institutions.
Separately, Berri met with a delegation of the "Syriac League", headed by Habib Frem, with talks featuring high on the security, economic and political situation.
On the other hand, Berri cabled the House Speaker of Ivory Coast Guillaume Soro, congratulating him on his re-election.
Berri also sent a telegram to the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, offering condolences over the victims of the terrorist bombing in Afghanistan.
