Bahrain marks World Blood Donation Day

The Ministry of Health (MoH) has commended the government’s provision of all the essentials of blood donation campaigns.
The ministry thanked donors for their effective contribution as sufficient inventory will help save the lives of patients in Salmaniya Medical Complex SMC and private hospitals.
The ministry also thanked all public and private institutions in the kingdom as well as the parties that partook in organizing the successful blood donation campaigns.
The Central Blood Bank reported that 19,332 donors, including citizens and resident, contributed blood donations through 145 blood donation campaigns organized in 2016.
More than 7,440 donors contributed blood since the beginning of 2017.
Along with countries of the world, as Bahrain marks the World Blood Donation Day, the ministry organizes a nationwide blood donation campaign in June.
