Shubra El Kheima prosecution ordered on Friday the detention of Malik Adli, a member of the 6 April Youth Movement, for 15 days pending investigation.

Adli is facing charges of attempts to topple the country's republican system and change the constitution.

He is also accused of joining a group that seeks to suspend the provisions of constitution and laws and prevent State institutions from performing their duties, harming national unity and social peace and spreading false news to disturb public security.

Adli was arrested in Maadi on Thursday upon a warrant of arrest issued from the Public Prosecution.
