A total of 2.3 million tons of local wheat have been supplied so far to all barns and silos nationwide, the Agriculture Ministry said in a statement on Friday.

The barns of the Principal Bank for Development and Agricultural Credit have received nearly 531,918 tons of wheat from farmers while mills received about 687,667 tons of wheat, the statement added.

Also, the General Company for Silos and Storage and the Egyptian Company for Silos have received 584,558 tons of wheat and 523,43 tons of wheat respectively, the statement read.

Egyptian farmers are supplying wheat following the crop's harvest, according to the statement.
