New Delhi - Spa

India on Saturday successfully test-fired a nuclear-capable, surface-to-surface ballistic missile, Defense Ministry sources said. According to dpa, this was the third test launch of the 600-kilometre missile Shourya, or valour, since 2008. The launch took place from a canister in the ground at a test range at Chandipur on the coast of the eastern state of Orissa. "The launch of the missile was perfect like in a text book and followed the path exactly to the pre-defined target in the Bay of Bengal," IANS news agency quoted the test range director SP Dash as saying. Dash said according to tracking done by radars and ships located in the area, the missile was accurate within a few meters.
