Foreign Undersecretary meets CICA delegation

Undersecretary for International Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, today met with a high-level delegation from the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), currently visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain. 
The delegation, headed by President of CICA Current Session, Gu Ziping, comprises Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Qi Zhenhong, CICA official and Counselor at the Department of European-Central Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Xing Fangfang and Attaché at the Department of European-Central Asian Affairs, Yu Kaiwen.
The Undersecretary welcomed the CICA delegation and hailed the key role being played by the People’s Republic of China in arranging and paving the way for CICA meetings and activities, affirming Member states’ keenness on developing CICA work to move towards broader prospects of friendship and cooperation in all domains through bilateral meetings and consultations. 
He stressed that the Kingdom of Bahrain, in line with the lofty royal affirmation, believes in CICA Countries’ common goals and that their shared potentials and values constitute an opportunity for them to make a smooth transition from mere cooperation to the building of a firm and promising alliance that devotes its efforts for world peace, development and prosperity.
He also said the Bahrain supports CICA and its mission, from the prospective of a modern vision, capable of building a new Asia, allowing for convergence of individuals’ ideas and cultures and for advancement of sustainable development, pointing in this regard that Bahrain has effectively participated in the activities of CICA Summit Conference ever since it gained full membership in 2011.
CICA Current Session President has praised the "pioneer" role the Kingdom of Bahrain plays in the success and development of the bloc for the tremendous role the latter can play in consolidation of joint action and implementation of distinguished programs that pour into the interest of all Asian peoples.
