MUSCAT, Oman- Arabstoday
Four Indian expatriate workers and an Omani driver were killed in a road accident in Izki in the Dhakhilia region on Sunday night, according to a spokesperson of the Royal Oman Police (ROP). The accident involving three vehicles occurred when the pick up truck driver, carrying construction workers of the Douglas OHI, tried to overtake a car and hit a trailer head-on after losing control of the vehicle. The ROP spokesperson blamed the accident on speeding and wrong overtaking. The workers were on their way to Sohar from Nimr in south. The deceased are Joseph John (52), Prasanan (42), Vijay Kumar (45), Feku Prasad (33) and Omani driver Abdullah Ali Nasser. Critically injured Prajapathi Pankaj is battling for his life at the Khoula Hospital.
