China welcomed the reconciliation deal signed Thursday between the Palestinian rivals, Fatah and Hamas, in Cairo, expressing appreciation for Egypt's efforts to promote the Palestinian unity.
China sees this positive progress toward achieving internal reconciliation in Palestine will result in fostering the internal front and achieving the Palestinian unity, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry Hua Chunying said on Friday.
The Chinese official voiced confidence that ending the division and accomplishing the Egypt-brokered reconciliation will lead to resuming the Palestinian-Israeli peace talks as well as achieving Palestine's independence and peaceful coexistence between the two countries.
