The First Vice - President and National Prime Minister, Lt. Gen. Bakri Hassan Salih, received in his office Tuesday the Director of Africa and the Middle East Department at the Australian Foreign Ministry, Mathew Newhouse, in presence of the Foreign Minister, Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour.
Lt. Gen. Bakri has affirmed Sudan keenness to cooperate with Australia in all domains for the interest of the two countries.
In a press statement, the Ambassador of Australia said Mr. Mathew has congratulated Lt. Gen. Bakri on his appointment which is considered an important step in the implementation of the national dialogue outcome that represents a model solution for all the disputes at the region.
He indicated that the meeting has discussed means of consolidating the relations between Sudan and Australia, especially in the agricultural and education fields.
He added that the Australian official has appreciated the role of Sudan for conveying humanitarian aid to South Sudan State.
