More than 350 civilians have left Syria’s Idlib de-escalation zone through the Abu al-Duhur checkpoint in the past 24 hours, Lieutenant General Vladimir Savchenko, chief of the Russian center for reconciliation of conflicting sides in Syria, told reporters on Wednesday.

"Over the past 24 hours, 357 civilians (97 men, 127 women and 133 children), 17 vehicles have passed through the Abu al-Duhur humanitarian corridor into the eastern part of Idlib province," Savchenko said adding that 290 Syrians, including 109 children, were provided with medical assistance.

In Jura-Awad, the eastern district of Aleppo city, 290 people in need received one tonne of fresh bread.

Militants from the Idlib de-escalation zone were shelling the village of Kabana in Latakia province throughout the day in violation of the ceasefire agreement, Savchenko added.

The Russian reconciliation center continues to fulfill assigned tasks after the completion of the military campaign in Syria. The center’s officers regularly travel around the country's liberated areas to assess the humanitarian situation. The main efforts of the Russian military are now focused on assistance to the refugees returning to their homes and evacuation of civilians from de-escalation zones.
