The Muslim World League (MWL)
Makkah - Egypt Today

The Muslim World League (MWL) has affirmed that recognition of Alquds as the capital of Israel is a dangerous step that contravenes the historic right of the Palestinian people in Alquds and the international resolutions in this regard.

Secretary General of the Muslim World League Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Karim Al-Issa said in a statement that "any such decision will meet with large Islamic anger and opens serious repercussions, and that the simplest expression of this step is that it enters the issue of Alquds which fateful in the Islamic conscience in complexities affecting the principle of non-influence on the final status negotiations."

He hoped that "the United States would push towards the peace process and forward, and that turning it back would pose more serious repercussions for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict."

He added that "the MWL as an umbrella for the Islamic peoples confirms that Alquds represents in the Islamic sense an important issue that accepts only a just and fair solution that preserves history and the right to put things in perspective without any negative bias or serious complication."

On behalf of the MWL, he thanked the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in this issue, especially the recent declaration of a firm and fair stance towards it, translating the voice of the Islamic world
