
The euro area seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was 10.1 percent in June, stable compared to the previous month and down from 11.0 percent in same month last year, the statistical office of the EU, Eurostat, said on Friday.
This remains the lowest rate recorded in the single currency area since July 2011.
In the wider EU, unemployment rate was 8.6 percent in June, stable compared to May and down from 9.5 percent in the same month last year.
This remains the lowest rate recorded in the EU since March 2009.
Among the member states, the lowest unemployment rates in June were recorded in Malta (4 percent), the Czech Republic (4.1 percent) and Germany (4.2 percent).
