US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is expected to be back on the campaign trail later this week after taking time off with pneumonia, US media reported.
The former secretary of state will attend the Black Women's Agenda symposium on Friday morning in Washington, broadcaster MSNBC reported, citing her campaign.
Clinton's campaign revealed her pneumonia diagnosis only after she abruptly left a ceremony on Sunday marking the September 11, 2001 attacks. She told CNN on Monday that her doctor diagnosed pneumonia on Friday and told her to rest for a few days, but she ignored the advice because she did not think it was going to become a problem. "If you are a busy, active person, you keep moving forward," Clinton said of her decision to attend the Sunday event in New York City.
Clinton was criticized for not disclosing her diagnosis earlier and for a lack of transparency. US President Barack Obama was scheduled to make a campaign appearance for Clinton on Tuesday in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
