Around 700 labourers learnt about how to lead a healthy life, hygiene, smoking cessation and more health related issues at a free medical camp organised by the Medical Wing of Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) with the support of Community Development Authority and Dubai Health Authority. The event - held on Friday - was organised in line with the initiative of CDA called "Honour Labour" on the occasion of the International Labour Day and also as part of the Year of Giving initiative.

 The objective was to honour the hardworking workforce of the UAE.

Chief Guest of the event Dr Omar Al Muthanna-Chief Executive Officer, CDA and Dr Layla Al Marzouqi, Director of the Dubai Medical Tourism Council for the   Dubai, DHA; appreciated efforts of PAD's medical wing and ensured continuous support of CDA and DHA.

"On the occassion of International Labour Day Celebrations, CDA in collaboration with licensed non-profit social clubs and private sector has devised month long programmes where the activities are delivered throughout the sustainable Honour Labour Programme. We are happy to share that this programme has sucessfully completed five years and has touched lives of many deserving individuals in Dubai," Al Muthanna said.

The free medical camp - a combination of health checkups, consultations, awareness talks, Q&A session and gifts for participants - was organised on the premises of Seville Products LLC (IFFCO Group) in Dubai Investment Park. The participating hospitals and clinics included Dubai Hospital, American Hospital, Mediclinic City Hospital, NMC Dubai, City Centre Clinic, Northwest Clinic, Symbiosis Medical Centre, Zia Medical Centre, American Wellness and Life Pharmacy. 

"I am astonished to witness the amazing effort put in by Medical Wing (PAD) and pray they continue with the same spirit to uplift lives of everyone who they reach out to" said Dr. Layla Al Marzouqi.

The medical wing president of PAD, Dr Nighat said: "The medical wing of the association will continue to organise such events for the community and always stay true to our core values of serving the humanity.. We believe such programmes can go a long way in improving and bringing about a positive change in lives and health of these hardworking individuals."

Participants were consulted by doctors from different specialties including: Endocrinology, Orthopedic, Cardiology, Psychology, Physiotherapy, and Family Medicine.

Apart from lectures, interactive session on physiotherapy and psychological well-being were also held. In the end five participants also won Umrah tickets sponsored by Al Hashmi Travels and an anonymous person respectivel
