President Sisi
Cairo - Egypt Today

During a meeting with Chairman of the Libyan Presidential Council Fayez al Sarraj on Sunday, Sisi reiterated Egypt’s firm stance on the necessity for reaching a political solution to the Libyan crisis.

President Sisi and al Sarraj reviewed the latest political developments on the Libyan arena and efforts exerted by the UN special envoy.

The two sides have touched on Egypt’s endeavors with various Libyan political factions to support the political path in Libya.

The meeting touched on ways of fostering bilateral cooperation in the fight against terrorism, as the two sides shed light on efforts to develop a comprehensive strategy to uproot this scourge.

A day later, president Sisi and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin attended on Monday the signing ceremony of an agreement to start the establishment of a power plant project in Dabaa.

The deal was inked by Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker and the head of Russian nuclear corporation Rosatom Alexei Likhachev.

This came at the beginning of a press conference held at El Ittihadiya palace after talks between the two leaders.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said that he also discussed with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin the latest developments concerning the Palestinian cause especially after the US decision to move its embassy in Israel to Al Quds
