Minister of Education Omar Razzaz announced during a press conference at the Queen Rania Al Abdullah Center For Educational Technology on Thursday, the results of the 2017 General Secondary Certificate Examination’s (Tawjihi) summer session.

The minister also announced the percentage of passing rate in the vocational and academic streams and private-study students as well as the names of the top students in the various streams.

In the regular academic stream, a total of 21,485 students passed of the total 39,144 students who sat for the exam with a passing rate of 54.9 per cent.

The pass rate stood at 64.7 per cent in the scientific stream, 42.4 per cent in the literary stream and 10.5 per cent in Sharia.

As for the regular vocational stream, which comprises agricultural, industrial, hospitality and domestic education, a total of 4,345 students passed of the total 8,368 who sat for the exam, or 51.9 per cent.
