Libyan member of Darna Jihadi group Hafez Al Zawy was killed during the clashes erupted between the extremist militias and forces of Libya's Marshal Khalifa Haftar in the southern area of the city. The clashes led to the injury of another extremist element, as four Libyan fighters have been injured. The injured soldiers have been transferred to the hospital to receive treatment.

According to local sources, the clashes continued for hours as they witnessed excessive use of light and medium weapons. The clashes coincided with political developments, as Head of Libya's Presidential Council Fayez Al Sarraj headed to Moscow to meet with a number of Russian officials to discuss the future role of the military institution in the Libyan political life. The visit comes upon an invitation from the Russian presidency. The Libyan official is scheduled to discuss the bilateral relations and the Russian role to achieve security and stability in the country.

On his hand, UN Envoy to Libya Martin Kobler urged the conflicting parties to respect the rules of International Humanitarian Law during the current clashes witnessed in Benghazi's city of Qanfoda. He stressed the need for providing a safe passage to the civilians in the city to ensure their protection.

He added, in a press statement, that those militants who do not respect human rights should be held accountable expressing his deep concern over the reports that discuss the humanitarian situation of civilians.

On the other hand, the UN mission in Libya received a message from the Libyan national army expressing their readiness to accept cease-fire and to open a safe passage for civilians in the Libyan city. The message has been supported by Kobler who called for taking serious steps in this regard.

He stressed that the International Criminal Court follows the humanitarian developments witnessed in Benghazi, stressing that the violators should be held accountable. He expressed the UN agencies to provide the humanitarian aids to the civilians in the areas of clashes as soon as possible.

On its hand, Libyan parliament delayed the formation of the committee to represent it during the coming negotiations scheduled to be held with the other political parties under sponsorship of the UN Envoy to Libya Martin Kobler.

Libyan parliamentarian Tarik Al Jeroshi revealed that the session to choose the members of the committee witnessed increasing differences, the matter that pushed Speaker Okila Saleh to delay the step until Tuesday. Saleh called the parliamentarian to submit their proposals over the articles that should be amended in Skheirat Agreement concluded in Morocco in 2015.

He added, during his speech before the parliament, that he will form the committee by himself if the parliamentarians failed to achieve accordance in this regard.
