Williamsburg - Arab Today

"Hold Back the Sun" relates the adventures and romances of two US Asiatic Fleet Lieutenants during the fall of the Philippines and Dutch East Indies early in the Pacific War. The book is filled with air and naval surface combat, paratroop operations, a trans-Pacific flight in a posh Pan Am flying boat, fast-paced wartime romance, and the scorched earth actions of the Dutch oil officials. "Hold Back the Sun" covers many aspects of the early Pacific War that have been seldom explored in popular fiction. Anyone who enjoys WWII adventure stories should like "Hold Back the Sun." World War II buffs should especially enjoy the accurate portrayals of the opening action of the Pacific War. Readers of W.E.B Griffin, Jack Higgins, Frederick Forsythe and Clive Cussler are the target audience for this book. Warren's debut novel, "Fall Eagle One," was published as an e-book on Amazon Kindle and CreateSpace as a paperback. "Fall Eagle One" was well-received by readers and has hovered in the upper one percent of Kindle sales for most of 2013. Before writing fiction, Warren served 30 years as an officer in the U.S. Navy, followed by ten years as City Engineer for Alexandria, Virginia. In his capacity as an environmental official he authored many published papers on stormwater quality. Warren is the author of several sections of the "Virginia Storm Water Manual." Warren was born in 1936 in Arkansas, and he was educated at the University of Arkansas and The George Washington University. Warren Bell is now living his lifetime dream of becoming a novelist. "I really enjoy creative writing. I love digging into the details of the times about which I write. I strive to paint word pictures for my reader that will make them feel that 'they are there.'" More information about Warren Bell can be found on his website at http://sites.google.com/site/warrenbellauthor/. The Kindle version of "Hold Back the Sun" is available on Amazon.com. The paperback version will be available October 25, 2013. On that date, he will be hosting a Book Launch event at the Schell Room, Williamsburg Regional Library, 515 Scotland Street, Williamsburg, VA 23185, 4:00pm - 5:30pm. The author will be reading selections from his new book, answering questions, and signing copies of "Hold Back the Sun," which will be available to purchase at the event. Source: PRWEB
