Dubai - Arabstoday
Emirates, Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways are operating normal flight services on Monday  to Australia and New Zealand as volcanic ash cloud breaks in Chile. The airspace restrictions around New Zealand forced Emirates into cancelling two of its service EK418 and EK419 on Sunday on between Sydney and Christchurch. “All flights to Australia and New Zealand are currently operating as per schedule. Emirates will continue to monitor the ash cloud caused by Mt. Cordon Caulle in Chile closely, and is currently liaising with the relevant authorities regarding its movement,” an Emirates spokesperson told Gulf News in a statement, adding that passengers are advised to check emirates.com for further updates. An Etihad spokesperson said: “There has been no impact on Etihad flights as a result of the volcano in Chile. ” Qatar Airways, too, said it’s operating normal services to the two countries. The Puyehue volcano in Chile actually began erupting on June 4 and the volcanic cloud reached trans-Tasman airspace on Saturday night. It is expected to remain over the region for the next few days, according to reports. From / Gulf News
