Air France has increased its offers to the Kingdom with a new line between Paris’s Charles de Gaulle and Marrakech.

Air France will connects Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Marrakech every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with Airbus A320 planes, which have a capacity of 174 seats and the latest medium-haul travel cabin equipment.

A ceremony was held on Sunday, March 26 in Marrakech Menara Airport to inaugurate the first flight.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the president of the Marrakech Municipal Council, Mohamed Larbi Belkaid, the secretary-general of the wilaya of Marrakech-Safi, ambassador of France to Morocco, Jean-François Girault, the French Consul General in Marrakech, the Director General of Africa Air France, Frank Legré, and representatives of the Regional Tourism Council (CRT).

At a press conference, Legré stressed that the new Marrakech like will contribute to the touristic outreach of the Red City and will allow local operators to explore new markets such as those in Asian countries and Russia, where Air France airlines is also operating.

This new offer is part of Air France-KLM’s strategy “Trust Together” project, which aims to give access to new destinations in Europe during the period of high summer demand, according to Legré.

He also indicated that for the summer season, Air France customers will be able to fly to Morocco from Paris with up to 54 weekly flights.

Air France-KLM offers up to 132 weekly flights to eight destinations in Morocco: Agadir, Oujda, Essaouira, Tangier and Fez via Transavia Airlines, and Casablanca Marrakech and Rabat via Air France.

In a statement to the MAP, Director General of the Moroccan National Tourist Board (ONMT), Abderrafie Zouiten welcomed this initiative as part of the ONMT’s vision to promote tourism, and the exploration of new tourist-oriented markets in Russia and various Asian countries.

He added that the inauguration of this new project will help attract more tourists to Marrakech.
