Beirut - Arabstoday
Prominent Iraqi singer Kathem El Saher recently held a grand performance in Beirut in celebration of Valentine’s Day. The concert was attended by thousands of spectators and the singer sang a collection of love songs written by the late prominent Syrian poet Nizar Qabani. According to the internet website MBC.net, most of the audience at the concert was dressed in red to celebrate Valentine’s Day. The concert was titled “La’ini Ahibukum Ughani Nizar Qabani” (Because I love I sing for Nizar Qabani). The audience welcomed Kathem with bouquets of flowers and the Iraqi flag. Kathem sang 14 songs by Nizar over a period of two and a half hours. Before leaving the stage at the end of the concert, Kathem threw kisses to everyone and said that he hopes his performance met their satisfaction.
