Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Islamabad - Egypt Today

Pakistani Foreign Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Middle East and Africa Affairs Tasawar Khan received envoys representing the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt who offered deepest condolences over the oil tanker blast which left 157 dead and more than 100 injured near Bahawalpur.
The delegation included the UAE Ambassador to Pakistan Isa bin Abdulla Al-Basha Al-Nuaimi, Saudi Embassy Charge d’Affaires Marwan bin Radwan Merdad, Bahraini Acting Charge d’Affaires Hamad Ahmed Al-Hashel and Egyptian Acting Charge d’Affaires Rabab Said Abdulla.
They updated the Pakistani official about the circumstances underpinning the decision to sever diplomatic ties with the State of Qatar.
They underlined Doha-support to terrorism and extremism as well as blatant interference in the internal affairs of their countries and other states, such as Yemen, Syria and Libya, which destabilises the region and subverts the regional and world security.
The Saudi envoy outlined the measures which were taken, describing them as “painful” as Qatar is a brotherly and neighbouring country.
He pointed out Qatar’s failure to abide by the Riyadh agreement and continuous support to extremist and terrorist groups, incitement and flagrant interference in the internal affairs of a number of countries.
While describing the Doha-led policies as being unacceptable to their countries and other states in the world, the envoys expressed the hope that wisdom prevails in Qatar to stop harbouring terrorist and extremist groups and put an end to all interference.
The Pakistan official said that his country hopes to see an end to this crisis as soon as possible, thanking the envoys for offering their deepest condolences.
