Foreign Minister congratulates Abul Gheit on AL presidency

Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit received here Sunday Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry who visited AL headquarter to congratulate him on assuming post as the new AL secretary general.

The two sides tackled a number of current issues in the Arab arena in light of preparations for the upcoming Arab summit, scheduled to be held in Mauritania's Nouakchott. 

In a separate development, Arab League assistant secretary general Ahmed bin Helli discussed with the Mauritanian ambassador in Cairo and its permanent AL delegate ongoing preparations with regard to holding the Arab summit on July 25-26, as well as its preparatory meetings that will start on July 20.
