Azhar imam meets Arab League secretary general-elect

Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayeb met with Secretary General-elect of the Arab League Ahmed Abul Gheit on Thursday.
Tayeb congratulated Abul Gheit on his election, saying Arab nations are putting high hopes on the Arab League to promote and resume the joint Arab action march.
The meeting took up means of promoting relations between Al Azhar and the Arab League.
For his part, Abul Gheit said he appreciates Al Azhar's role in supporting causes of the Arab and Islamic nations and its efforts in spreading the moderate ideology of Islam.
