
Egypt's Ambassador in Abuja Ashraf Salama has met with Nigerian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Khadija Abba to discuss arrangements for a visit scheduled to be paid by Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayeb to Nigeria on May 8-10.
A statement by the Egyptian Embassy quoted the Nigerian official as saying that her country suffers from the spread of extremist ideas, describing the visit as a message of peaceful coexistence between religions.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed regional and international issues of common concern and ways to boost cooperation between the two countries.
