400 Km added to national gas network

The national gas network succeeded in adding 450 Km to the network in 15 months and it is expected to add more 400 Km in the next period, Vice President of Egyptian Natural Gas Holding company (EGAS) Mostafa Hilal said Tuesday.
These remarks came during a session about the Egyptian petroleum sector on the second day of Al-Ahram Energy Conference, attended by number of officials and representative of Egyptian and foreign petroleum companies, working in Egypt.
Hilal added that the gas was supplied to about 2 million citizens in the period between 2014 and 2017, bringing the total of the recipients to 8.450 million recipients.
He denied that the ministry is planning to expand the use of natural gas in fueling cars, saying that the number of natural gas vehicles exceeds 236 thousand vehicles.
Meanwhile, Vice President of EGAS operations Magdy Galal said the Egyptian petroleum sector achieved high scores in gas production in 2017.
