The 22nd edition of the Dubai International Pharmaceuticals & Technologies Conference and Exhibition (DUPHAT) will focus on the pharma technology and packaging of pharmaceutical products, dermatological products for pharmacies, and smart storage techniques and solutions in the pharmaceutical industry.

The three-day event, which starts on Tuesday, 7th of March 2017, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, has become one of the largest pharmaceutical events in the Middle East, and it is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of the Dubai Health Authority.

DUPHAT exhibition this year hosts 600 companies from more than 75 countries who will showcase their latest products and most up to date concepts during the 3 days of the event. In conjunction to DUPHAT, DUPHAT Tech, a specialised exhibition for pharma technology is launched this year, focusing on the pharma technology and packaging of pharmaceutical products, dermatological products for pharmacies, and smart storage techniques and solutions in the pharmaceutical industry.

On another scope, the conference agenda for the 22nd edition includes 172 scientific sessions and 36 workshops that cover several pharmaceutical topics, in addition to 612 poster presentations. The conference witnesses the participation of 168 speakers and specialists including deans, university professors, consultants, and seniors from prestigious pharmaceutical associations.

Dr. Ali Al Sayed, Director of Pharmaceutical Services Department at the Dubai Health Authority and the Conference Chairman, said: "DUPHAT has evolved a lot since its inception from 22 years to a full-fledged comprehensive and internationally recognized pharmaceutical conference. The international supporters and professionals have contributed significantly to DUPHAT’s status internationally."

Dr. Al Sayed continued on saying: "DUPHAT 2017 attracts distinguished pharmaceutical professionals from all over the world. Speakers from USA, UK, Australia, Europe, Canada, Africa, Japan and the Middle East shall present their latest perspectives on pharmaceutical science in the intensive 3–day program with a wide variety of topics encompassing pharmacy practice, pharmaceutical science, quality and safety of medicines, medication management, drug recalls and shortages, governance, education, continuing professional development and best practices."

The conference this year will witness a notable participation from GCC delegates in scientific sessions that will be presented by pharmaceutical societies and associations from Saudi, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain.

DUPHAT is organised yearly by INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions Organisation Est. – member of INDEX Holding, and the conference is accredited by the Ministry of Health and Prevention in the UAE, Dubai Health Authority, The Society of Hospital Pharmacists, Australia, and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society – UK.
