Russians launch new Sirius satellite

Russia has successfully launched a communications satellite for the U.S. satellite radio company Sirius, officials said. The FM-6 satellite was carried into space Friday by the Russian Proton-M rocket, RIA Novosti reported. The launch was supposed to happen Oct. 20 but a malfunctioning communications station in South Africa delayed it, a spokesman for the Russian space agency Roscosmos said. The satellite has a working life of 15 years.
