Many respondents in a British survey said Blu-ray discs were overpriced and they can't even tell the difference between Blu-ray and standard DVD images. The survey by online shopping site MyVoucherCodes found 53 percent of people polled said Blu-ray discs were too expensive and 39 percent said they couldn't see the difference between the two formats, pocket-lint.com reported Friday. However, the poll didn't reveal how many of those surveyed actually own a high-definition television, and respondents not seeing the difference between the 1080p images of a Blu-ray and the standard definition 576p video on a DVD would be understandable if they were playing video on a standard definition screen, pocket-lint said. In the poll of 1,348 people, the 19 percent of people who have availed themselves of the high-definition Blu-ray technology said they own three discs each, whereas 38 percent of all respondents said they own more than 100 DVDs.
