Fake followers line up behind Italian parties on Twitter

A broad spectrum of Italian politicians are the latest to be struck in an ongoing social-network assault known as 'Twittergate'. According to a report by internet survey group Digital Evaluations, IdV party leader Antonio di Pietro, PD leader Pier Luigi Bersani and SEL party leader and Puglia governor, Nichi Vendola have recently fallen victim to computer-generated fake followers. Activist comedian Beppe Grillo continues to be at the top of the fraudulent follower hit list, said the report.
