China and South Korea are holding a conference on Internet cooperation on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, officials said. The two-day Internet roundtable between the two countries, which began Wednesday in Beijing, is covering the Internet economy, network infrastructure construction and cybercrime, China's state-run Xinhua News Agency reported. "China and the Republic of Korea share broad common interests in Internet cooperation, and boosting cooperation is of great importance to the Internet development of the two countries, Asia and even the world," Wang Chen, director of the China's State Internet Information Office of the State Council, said in his keynote speech. In response, Kim Dae-hee, commissioner of the Korea Communications Commission, offered his desire for China and South Korea to use the conference as an opportunity to promote healthy Internet development. China has held similar roundtable Internet discussions with the United States, Britain and emerging countries, Xinhua said.
