Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa
Washington - BNA

Ambassador of Bahrain to the United States, Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, has visited Boston and met with Bahraini students. He stressed the Embassy's keenness to follow up their concerns, praising the efforts of the Cultural Attaché in the Embassy, Mubarak Butti, in this regard.

The ambassador highlighted  the importance of participating in the upcoming legislative elections scheduled for 20 November in Bahraini diplomatic missions abroad, affirming that voting is a national duty that involves choosing the suitable candidate. This electoral process represents the voice of the people and the reformist approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which contributes to creating a safe environment against foreign attempts to interfere in Bahrain's national affairs.

The ambassador also stressed the depth of Bahrain-US relations and the importance of the strategic partnership between the two countries to safeguard regional and international security and peace.

Shaikh Abdullah pointed out the importance of enhancing the distinguished economic relations between the two countries within the framework of the free trade agreement between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America, affirming that he is working hard to develop bilateral relations based on solid foundations of shared values and interests.

This came during a lecture he delivered in Boston University, where a number of sponsored students from the Army, Navy and Air Force, and those interested in international relations attended the lecture.

The Kingdom's ambassador also delivered a lecture at the Belfer Centre for Studies at Harvard University on the security threats facing the region through the direct coordination of the Defense Attaché at the Embassy, Capt. Hamad Khalil Al Meer. He discussed five major threats: the proliferation of nuclear weapons, the spread of ballistic missiles, terrorist organizations, cyber-attacks and the threat of freedom of navigation, which the Iranian regime and its terrorist groups stand behind.

It is worth noting that the Belfer Centre for Studies at Harvard University is considered the best intellectual hub in the world.
