Al Maktoum HE college signs AUD agreement

An agreement was signed recently between The American University in Dubai (AUD) and the Al Maktoum College of Higher Education in an effort to promote multiculturism. The agreement aims to promote and encourage the exchange of students and faculty, the organization of joint workshops and training programs, the conduction of joint research and development projects, and finally the exchange of publication. More specifically, AUD will encourage its UAE national students to participate in the Academic Training Programme in Multiculturalism and Leadership offered by the Al Maktoum College. A preparation for UAE national students in the key contemporary global issues of multiculturalism, leadership, cultural engagement, and global awareness, the program gives participating students the experience of the broad field of the study of Islam and Muslims. Students participating in the program take classes, participate in discussions and debates, and produce written and assessed coursework to demonstrate their engagement with the academic issues of the program. The agreement was signed in the presence of Elias Bou Saab, Executive Vice President of AUD, Mirza Al-Sayegh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Al Maktoum College, Dr. Hossein Godazgar, Reader in Sociology of Religion and Acting Principal of Al Maktoum College, and Peggy Awad, Director of External Relations at AUD.
