Paris - KUNA
Kuwaiti Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf reaffirmed Friday keenness on caring for, and following up the situations of, the Kuwaiti students in France. "The State of Kuwait, represented by the Ministry of Higher Education, does its utmost to facilitate the overseas academic mission of our students on equal footing with students at home," Dr. Al-Hajraf said. The minister, now on a visit to France, made the comments in an interview with KUNA and Kuwait TV following an open meeting with Kuwaiti students in France at the Kuwaiti Cultural Office here. "Today's meeting with the students provided me with an important chance to listen to the complaints and suggestions, raised by students, regarding their study and stay," he said, affirming that all points will be subject to "serious study." Dr. Al-Hajraf highlighted the necessity for expatriate students to be aware of, and abide by, the academic rules and regulations of the host colleges, and advised the students to be in contact with the Cultural Office for more information in this regard. He voiced best wishes for the all students, noting that their country is looking forward to their success and return as qualified cadres who could be better able to contribute to the progress of the homeland. The meeting was attended by Kuwait Permanent Delegate to the UNESCO Ambassador Ali Al-Tarrah, Director of the Cultural Office Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Radwan and Cultural Advisor of the Office Dr. Khaled Al-Thafiri. France hosts 150 out of the 450 Kuwaiti students overseen by the office; the remaining study in Malta, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherland, Poland, Ukraine and Hungary. Dr. Al-Hajraf leads Kuwait delegation to the 37th UNESCO General Conference being held between November 5 and 20.
