Expanding maize cultivation area to avoid importation

The government will expand maize cultivation area by half a million feddans annually to avoid importing it for feeding cattle, the agriculture minister said.
The measure is meant to save huge amounts of hard currency spent on importing yellow corn, Essam Fayed said in press statements on Saturday on the fringe of his tour in Alexandria.
