Egyptian ministry warns of violating other countries' waters

The Foreign Ministry has called on the Egyptian fishermen not to enter the territorial waters of other countries without obtaining the required permits.

In a statement on Saturday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman urged fishermen to be more cautious while fishing near the territorial waters of neighboring countries.

He added that the ministry was following up the cases of the fishermen detained in Sudan for violating fishing laws.

The call comes as many Egyptian fishermen have been recently arrested by authorities in neighboring countries for illegally entering their territorial waters.
