3686 encroachments on Nile River removed nationwide

As many as 3,686 encroachments have been removed since the start of national campaign targeting to rescue the Nile River, said a statement by Irrigation Minister.

Some 30 encroachments have been removed over the past 24 hours in various governorates nationwide.

The campaign was launched by Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab and Minister of Irrigation Hossam Moghazi.

Inspection teams are continuing to disclose irregularities and encroachments, said Moghazi in press statements.

"We are firmly going towards implementing the state plan to remove all encroachments on Nile River whatever the sacrifices," Moghazi said.
