Hilton Opens First 5-Star Hotel in Morocco

Inveravante, the developer of the Tanger City Center integrated complex, has announced the opening of the Hilton Tangier City Center & Residences, the second project hosting unit. The hotel is the first 5-star Hilton Worldwide hotel in Morocco.

Comprising 180 rooms, with 161 standard rooms and 19 suites, the hotel unit is adjacent to the Résidences Hilton, 68 apartments offered for purchase with the possibility for owners to benefit from all the prestigious services of the Hilton brand.

As for services and amenities, the Hilton Tanger City Center has a gym, 5 meeting rooms, a 13th floor swimming pool, an executive lounge, and 5 food outlets between bar, lounge and restaurants. The hotel covers an area of 24,482 m2, while the Hilton Residences cover an area of 7,921 m2.

“After the successful opening of the Hilton Garden Inn Tangier City Center last year, we are pleased to announce that the work of the Hilton Tangier City Center has been completed. This opening marks the return of the prestigious Hilton brand in Morocco. It will greatly enrich the tourist offer of Tangier, by offering to the increasingly numerous and diverse visitors of the city a high quality accommodation product that will meet their most demanding requirements.

The Hilton Tanger City is currently open in a soft opening phase and the official inauguration will take place very soon,” said Badr El Ouazzani, Managing Director of Inveravante Maroc in a communique released by the company.

Tanger City Center is the second major Moroccan project of Inveravante, who also developed Anfaplace Living Resort in Casablanca. It is close to the new Tangier train station, on the main avenue of the city, close to the beach.

With an overall built area of236,443 m2, the complex includes private residences, two upscale hotels (the Hilton Tangier City Center Hotel & Residences and the Hilton Garden Inn Tangier City Center), and offices (10,161 m2), as well as a shopping and leisure center (32,000 m2).

The project required an investment of more than MAD 2 billion and allowed the creation of more than 1,000 direct jobs. With this investment, the Inveravante group has made a strong commitment to the development of the city of Tangier, which it considers, with the many projects realized and planned, as one of the main metropolises around the Mediterranean.
