UAE's cricket team announced for ICC ICup
Cairo - Egypt Today

The Emirates Cricket Board has announced the team that will represent the UAE in the upcoming ICC Intercontinental Cup, ICup and the ICC World Cricket League, WCL games against Namibia in September.

The ICC’s 4-day ICup (First Class) will commence on 6th September and conclude on 19th September.

The WCL’s first 50-over (International) match will be played on 21st September and the second will be played on 23rd September.

All the matches will be played at the Wanderers Cricket Ground, Windhoek, in Namibia.

Zayed Abbas, Emirates Cricket Spokesperson said, "We have been greatly anticipating the ICup and WCL series against Namibia, and we are extremely confident the team will post strong results against the hosts. Participating and doing well, in these tournaments, is vitally important in continuing our climb up the ICC rankings ladder."

The UAE will embark on a 12-day preparation camp 6 days at the Cricket South Africa High Performance Centre (University of Pretoria), followed by a 6-day preparatory period in Windhoek, ahead of their campaign against Namibia.

"Throughout the summer, the team, and the coaching staff have been working very hard to take their skills and fitness to the next level. This preparation camp will be integral in building on these efforts and strengthening an already tight-knit, competitive team. We wish them an effective camp, and rewarding series," he added.

The UAE team includes Rohan Mustafa (C), Shaiman Anwar (VC), Ghulam Shabbir, Saqlain Haider, Rameez Shahzad, Muhammad Usman, Adnan Mufti, Chirag Suri, Ahmed Raza, Imran Haider, Muhammad Naveed, Amjad Javed, Zahoor Khan and Qadeer Ahmad.

All the matches will commence at 10am local time.
