Kinshasa - Arab Today

The United Nations voiced alarm on Tuesday over a wave of arrests in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where tensions were running high after President Joseph Kabila's term in office expired.

Maman Sidikou, the UN chief's special representative, expressed his "grave concern over the wave of ongoing arrests, some of which are arbitrary, and detentions in the last three days across the Democratic Republic of the Congo," a statement from his office said.
