Syria peace talks will resume in February in Geneva, the UN peace envoy said Monday, as the UN Security Council voted to deploy observers to war-ravaged Aleppo.
"It is the intention of the United Nations to convene those negotiations in Geneva on 8 February 2017," said Staffan de Mistura after the council unanimously adopted a French-drafted resolution to monitor evacuations from the city.
