The recent US air strikes on a hospital in Kunduz that killed 22 people were a mistake, the top US commander in Afghanistan said Tuesday.
"A hospital was mistakenly struck," General John Campbell testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee, adding that "we would never intentionally target a protected medical facility."
