US rockers the Foo Fighters announced they will headline the storied Glastonbury musical festival this year.
The band announced they would be part of the line up after being named best international band at the NME Awards.
Frontman Dave Grohl told the audience they would play the festival, in a recorded video message to the audience of the NME Awards in London.
"Sorry we couldn't make it tonight, but we will be seeing you over the summer at some big outdoor festival that nobody knows we're playing. It's Glastonbury!" Grohl said in the message.
"So we'll see you at Glastonbury - thanks a lot everybody!"
The Foo Fighters, formed by Grohl in 1994 following the death of Nirvana bandmate Kurt Cobain, is the first major act announced for the June event.
It will be the band's first appearance since 1998 at the festival, which has been sold out since October.
"We feel incredibly lucky to have confirmed the Foo Fighters for the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury this year," said organiser Emily Eavis.
"Very few bands have the power to unite and energise a crowd like Foo Fighters do."
