Dr. Fadia Kiwan
Beirut - Arab Today

Minister of State for Women's Affairs Jean Ogasapian highly valued in a statement Lebanon's official adoption of the candidacy of Dr. Fadia Kiwan for the position of Under-Secretary General of the United Nations and ESCWA Executive Secretary, expressing confidence in her established professional skills in her career march at the different human, political, cultural and educational walks of life.
Minister Ogasapian lauded Dr Kiwan as a "role model for struggling Lebanese women counting on their efficiency and perseverance in performing their tasks in the best spirit of cooperation and openness to others."
Ogasapian also vowed to expand the extent of contacts and official support to Dr. Kiwan, saying that the assumption of a Lebanese woman of such a high ranking position is considered an added value in light of the Lebanese experience clinging to national coexistence and openness to civilizations and cultures, in addition to solidarity with peoples' causes, for the sake of promoting human values, freedom and genuine democracy.
