UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashed Al-Maktoum received on Saturday Tunisian Prime Minister Mehdi Jomaa and his accompanying delegation. Sheikh Mohammad reviewed with the Tunisian premier cooperation between the UAE and Tunisia, especially in areas of investment, tourism and trade exchange. The UAE official was briefed by Jomaa on the general security, political and economic situation in Tunisia and the government efforts to combat extremism and promote security and stability in the country. Sheikh Mohammad stressed on the support by UAE president, government and people to the Tunisian people to help them overcome obstacles facing the country's stability and security. Sheikh Mohammad expressed hope for the return of Tunisia to the international scene regularly, and with stability, as well as cultural, tourist and economic openness to the world. For his part, the Tunisian prime minister expressed gratitude to UAE for its support and stance towards the Tunisian people, economy and politically. He said that his country needed more support and assistance to overcome the current economic crisis and to be able to hold the legislative and presidential elections by the end of the year.
