The South Korean government on Monday announced that it will develop a so-called knowledge-based industry that includes engineering, design and software, launching a new R&D program and granting special support to companies in such areas. Under its development plan, the government will designate 300 of what it calls top brain companies by 2018 to offer various types of assistance, such as low-interest loans, to companies.
