Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (Nodx) expanded 9.1 percent in February over the same month last year, following January's 3.3 percent contraction, according to the International Enterprises (IE) Singapore.
February's strong growth was partly due to a low base last year, as well as stronger shipments of non-electronic goods, which out- weighted the continued weakness in electronics exports.
IE's figures show that electronics exports entered their 19th consecutive month of decline in February, contracting 3.7 percent over the same month last year.
On a year-on-year basis, Nodx to all of the top 10 Nodx markets, except South Korea and Hong Kong, expanded in February 2014. The top three contributors to the Nodx expansion in February 2014 were China mainland, the U.S. and China's Taiwan region.
